Welcome... to those of you who are new and looking at Dance Expressions as your studio for this new 2011/2012 season. We hope all of your questions will be answered. We look forward to meeting you, or welcoming you back. Alyssa Burgeson is currently the owner and director of the studio. Dance Expressions is excited to start their seventeenth season. The results from competitions for the 2011 Season have been incredible. Each year the students are very successful with numerous awards, scholarships and top finishes at competitions.
Final Registration! Tuesday, Sept 6 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm 2011. . Pick-up of Pictures and Sweatpants will also be available!
*All 10 post dated cheques and a one time $25 registration fee are required the day of registration to hold your spot in class. No costume deposit is required.
Levels JUNIOR ¨One - Two Years of Dance training. Age 5 and younger. BEGINNER 1 ¨One - Two Years of Dance training BEGINNER 2 ¨Two - Three Years of Dance training INTERMEDIATE ¨Three - Six years of Dance experience. One Ballet class per week ADVANCED 1 ¨Seven years of Dance Training and 2/3 classes of Ballet per week. Majority of students 14 Years and Younger ADVANCED 2 ¨Seven years of Dance Training and 2/3 classes of Ballet a week Majority of students 15 Years and Older
General Requirements: All students must have proper dance footwear, and will not be allowed in dance socks. All students must come to class with appropriate dance wear, and hair neatly tied back! Tap: Regulation tap shoes fitted with Capezio Tele - Tone taps. Jazz: capezio jazz slipper with a black pleated toe. Tight fitting tank tops or tee-shirts that have some sort of stretch to them. Half tops are permitted. stretch dance pants for girls and boys. Ballet: Preferably a black body suit with white leotards, and ballet slippers. Hair sprayed back in a bun! Pointe: Dancer must be taking 3 ballet classes a week. Hip Hop: Baggy pants and a loose fitting top or sweatshirt with clean running shoes. Musical Theater: Tight fitting tops and stretch dance pants for girls; stretch pants and t-shirt for boys. High heeled tan Capezio shoes for seniors, regular jazz shoes for juniors. Lyrical: Tight fitting tank tops or tee-shirts that have some sort of stretch to them. Half tops are permitted. stretch dance pants for girls and boys.
Dismissal The studio reserves the right to terminate student instruction at any time. While parental support is expected and encouraged, any interference or intervention will not be tolerated and if it occurs, dismissal will result.
Costumes Students are responsible for all costume expenses throughout the year. We have some excellent seamstresses that work for the studio to help maintain a reasonable price for our costumes. Parents will also be notified before costumes are finished to give you the option to sew your own costume (the cost is approximately $35 to have the seamstress sew it), and usually $30 for material.

Private Lessons (Solos)- Monthly Rate 1 Class per week - 30 Minutes $28 Private Lessons (Duos - per couple)- Monthly Rate 1 Class per week - 30 Minutes $40
Payment of Fees All fees are based on the tuition year, September through June. Some months have 5 day weeks, and some have 2-3 due to Holidays. Fees are divided into 10 equal payments and must be remitted by post-dated cheques. Cheques are to be dated the 1st of every month.If any payment is not received by the 1st of the month there will be an additional $25 added to the total. If for some reason a student wishes to terminate his or her lessons during the term, one month notice is required in writing for the remaining post-dated cheques to be returned to the student.
